This Is Where You Can Still Have Thanksgiving Pies

We searched bakeries all over the island to find out who is accepting walk-ins and late orders.

YIt is, the holidays are officially here, Thanksgiving IS Thursday, November 24th, and if you haven’t secured your dessert order yet, don’t worry, we’ve found places that welcome walk-ins ready to grab whatever’s available. , as well as some Bakeries are still accepting orders.

We are thankful that so many businesses and workers have put in long hours to get us those Christmas baked goods. So we suggest you go online, call soon, or make a plan to get in line, be patient, flexible, and appreciative. Here is our tip sheet:

Ani Pastry, Hālawa Valley

Ani’s is encouraging online ordering/paying and, for those who do both, is offering special Wednesday/Thursday pickup by Sears Pearlridge. The bakery sells many variations of Christmas cakes along with so many flavors of specialty buttercream rolls. Orders will be accepted this week and pickups are available today and Tuesday at the store.

Anna Miller, ‘Aiea

So many pies for Thanksgiving Week, and all on a first come, first served basis, no pre-orders. This is the line of Christmas cakes from November 20 to 26: pumpkin, pumpkin whipped cream, pumpkin cheesecake, apple, light apple, hollandaise apple, coconut flan, custard, banana cream, haupia chocolate, cream of macadamia nut and blueberry cheesecake.

Epi Ya Bakery

The bakery was still taking orders last week for custard tarts, rolls, and other savory treats, but the phone was unanswered and voice mail was full. So if you want something, it would be best to stop by and ask what is possible.

Hello Pie, Waialua

This woman-owned bakery makes traveling to the North Shore a delicious adventure for locally sourced baked goods that often include meat and vegetable pies and banana poi bread. Seasonal specials available for this week include a Pumpkin Eggnog Pie; The Eleanor, a pineapple cream pie named after founder/chef Casey Burns’ grandmother; cranberry sauce; cheese cakes; mini cakes and other inspirations. Open Monday and Tuesday from 8 am to 3 pm, and Wednesday from 8 am to 1 pm, or while supplies last.

Kilani Bakery, Wahiawa

Everything is first come, first served at this classic Wahiawa bakery. After a day off on Monday, November 21, Kilani will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. donuts and cakes by the end of this month.

Kulu Kulu Pie, Waikiki

This Japanese-style bakery, known for its beautiful and savory sweets, has vintage specials that include: Pumpkin Basque Cheesecake, Pumpkin Cream Cheese Rolls, Ube Almond Cream Cake, as well as Pear Cream Pie and almonds. Pre-orders can be placed in-store, by phone, email, or walk-up through Thanksgiving while supplies last.

The Gelateria

A special Pumpkin Crunch Ice Cream Pie sold out every time it was offered. But if your holiday palate leans frozen rather than baked, you can still order pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin cheesecake, and pumpkin chocolate chip to-go. We’re on the lookout for these returning ice cream flavors soon: Roasted Fig, Spiced Apple, Eggnog, and Cranberry; and I could order a champagne or lemon sorbet while we wait.

Lee’s Bakery, Chinatown

Every year, devotees wait in long lines for the famous custard pies, often still so hot from the oven that you need to air them on the way home. There’s no easy parking so bring a friend you want to catch up with or have someone drop you off and then come pick you up once you’ve secured the pies.

leonardo’s bakery

Though Leonard’s Bakery is beloved for its 70 years of baking malassadas, these days Portuguese fried donuts come in the traditional form, with various toppings and fillings, including today’s pumpkin spice flavor, which just might be your holiday dessert of choice. But if you want more than malassadas, Kapahulu Bakery also produces Portuguese sweet bread, pumpkin, apple pies and pies, and seasonal custard. The bakery opens at 5:30 am every day this week and closes at 5 pm on Thanksgiving.

Liliha Bakery

Liliha Bakery is still taking online orders for Thanksgiving specials that include custard, pumpkin, apple and Dutch apple pies, as well as pumpkin bread, pumpkin chiffon puka pie, pumpkin caramel cupcakes and some items. baked goods decorated for the holidays. Although they are stocking up for walk-ins, staff say ordering ahead allows customers to pay and pick up faster without standing in long lines.

Sing Cheong Yuan Bakery, Chinatown

Yes, the bakery that celebrates traditional Chinese treats (manapua, sesame sweets, and preserved fruit) while keeping up with trendy gummy bears and more, is also selling Christmas cakes for three days this week. For people looking to stay in their neighborhoods, Napoleon’s Bakery at Zippy’s has an amazing assortment of pumpkin treats that are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Among the offerings: pumpkin pie, pumpkin chiffon pie, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin bread pudding, pumpkin coffee pie, as well as dinner rolls, cornbread and Christmas spice mochizadas.
