One of the high school marching bands in Rochester, Minnesota helped make the magic happen this week at the Happiest Place on Earth, Disney World!

Century High School Marching Band in Rochester, Minnesota performing live at Walt Disney World

Last Friday, three buses left Rochester, Minnesota, full of amazing Century High School students for a 25+ hour trip to Orlando, Florida. And yesterday, those kids played their hearts out as they marched down Main Street and the Magic Kingdom as kids and families looked on and cheered.

Last night, I was looking at videos and photos of the exciting day for these students on a few different Facebook and Instagram pages because one of my sons is with this amazing group. (If you look closely, he’s the one standing just behind the banner on the left side with the trombone.)

Century High School Marching Band…you guys are amazing! Congratulations on your big moment at the Magic Kingdom and I hope your trip is filled with more magical moments.

Century High School marching band trip to Disney is giving me a Deja Vu moment

I’m having a little moment of deja vu right now. On (cough cough) Twenty years ago I went to Orlando, Florida with my high school marching band from Fort Dodge, Iowa, and we marched down Main Street. It’s pretty amazing that my own son has this same opportunity this week.

What is one memory you have of a high school performance or trip?

I would have to think hard to remember if there were any other trips we took in high school for the band. He also played sports so he was constantly traveling with basketball and volleyball as well. However, the trip to Disney was by far one of my favorite moments. What is your favorite memory from school? I would love to know! Send me a note on my Facebook page – Jessica On The Radio.
