Moffitt, Suzanne Kay (Willmert) age 62, of Plymouth, MN, passed away on November 27, 2022 at North Memorial Health Hospital, Robbinsdale, MN, surrounded by her children. Suzanne was born on November 15, 1960 in Albert Lea, MN to Bryan and Mary (Bierstedt) Willmert. She was baptized and confirmed in Christ at Zion Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, MN. Suzanne graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1979. She then studied nursing at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, MN. Suzanne worked as a registered nurse at Westwood Nursing Home and as an underwriter for LTCG. In 1983, she married and welcomed two wonderful children, Benjamin and Justin. Growing up, Suzanne was a valued member of the swim team and enjoyed water skiing, which led to her love of being in and around the water throughout her life. She loved to travel, visiting her beloved aunt Justine of hers in Arizona, as well as Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, a road trip to California, and many other family vacations up north. Suzanne loved watching her sons play hockey and baseball, traveling to New York, Florida and Canada for her sporting events. She treasured her grandchildren, held backyard pool parties, and baked Christmas cookies together. Suzanne could always be found in the kitchen. She enjoyed making lefse and baking cakes, making her family favorites for her birthday or finding fun new twists on classic recipes to cook. She filled her days caring for her beloved dogs throughout her life, Aurora, Rosie, Belle and Virgil. Suzanne loved playing games and cards with her friends and family, including Hand & Foot, 500, Cribbage, and Train Game. Two of her sons remain to treasure Suzanne’s memory and hers: Benjamin (Kelli), Plymouth, MN; Justin, Ankeny, IA; grandchildren: Michael, Evan, Alex, Camille; siblings: Cynthia (Jeff) Kurtz, Carolyn (Dan) Fishbeck, Craig (Lynn) Willmert; nieces and nephews: Meagan (DJ), Grace, Ellen, Emily, Nicholas, Molly, Jack; great-nephew: Milo; and other beloved family and friends. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Mary Willmert; grandparents, Emil and Erna Bierstedt, Orthwin and Dorothy Willmert; and other beloved family and friends. A memorial service for Suzanne will be held Tuesday, December 6 at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights, MN, with a viewing one hour prior; Reverend Bonnie Wilcox will officiate. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorials be delivered to the Children’s Hospital of Minnesota and the First Lutheran Church of Columbia Heights.
