Where can you find the best tamales in El Paso?
According to Yelp, which recently released its all-time list of the 25 best places to buy tamales in Texas, it’s in a strip mall on Viscount.

December in El Paso is tamale season in El Paso. Although available year-round, tamales are a must at family gatherings this time of year.
And we’re not for a lack of traditional businesses that are known and loved for their delicious corn husk-wrapped sandwich. But who makes them better?

Yelp’s foodie brigade says it’s Pepe’s Tamales at 9530 Viscount Blvd in the Barley Square shopping center. Among the best not only in the city but in the Lone Star State, say its users.
Yelp’s best tamale places in Texas were determined by “a number of factors including total volume and customer ratings.” [Yelp] reviews that mention” the keywords “tamale” and “tamales,” according to the multi-sourced review site.
Pepe’s was the only local restaurant on the list, but we know that El Paso has plenty of great tamale spots that rival anything you can find in Houston, San Antonio, and other parts of the state.
