It’s the most wonderful time of the year… and that’s because theaters are starting to unveil their holiday lineup and the 2022 movie slate is looking better than ever with some classics coming to one of our favorite theaters.
Throughout the month of December, Light House is dedicated to spreading holiday cheer and providing the public with a fun and festive space to celebrate with their friends and family with a selection of the season’s most beloved films and some cult classics.
It just isn’t Christmas without cheering on Kevin McCallister’s antics in HOME ALONE DOUBLE BILL, getting lost watching Jimmy Stewart run through Bedford Falls in IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE or watching John McClane single-handedly take on Hans Gruber in DIE HARD.
Light House programmer David Kelly has curated a number of holiday favorites including ELF, CAROL, THE FAMILY STONE, FANNY & ALEXANDER and LOVE ACTUALLY, with alternative seasonal offerings like Stanley Kubrick’s EYES WIDE SHUT and Sean Baker’s TANGERINE. , critically acclaimed.
There will be unique special events including a SOCIAL ELF SING ALONG Christmas party, a Cinema Book Club screening of THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL, a live performance of the Royal Ballet production of THE NUTCRACKER and a New Year’s Eve screening of Paul Thomas. Anderson’s cult classic BOOGIE NIGHTS in 35mm.
On planning for the season, Light House programmer David Kelly commented: “This year’s Naughty or Nice season is a Christmas cake filled with joy, singing, warmth and friendship, with a few Kubrick and Bergman sprinkles thrown in for good measure. As always, we’re excited to see you all this December for a joyous mix of old favorites and modern classics, and a giant cherry on top, as we bring you a party like no other with Sing Along Social and Elf. So put on your dancing shoes and remember, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is to sing out loud for all to hear!
