Jamshedpur: 32 Carmel Community College students are placed

Jamshedpur, November 19: The graduation ceremony of the 7the Carmel Community College, Jamshedpur 1 Year Diploma in Office Management student batch was held at Sacred Heart Convent School, Bistupur on Saturday 19th November.

32 students received their Diplomas.

Dr. Saurabh Chaudhary, Director General of Apex Hospital and a renowned Jamshedpur Orthopedist and Secretary of the Indian Medical Association, was the main guest.

The special guest was Dr. (Mrs.) Disha Chaudhary, renowned dentist and director of Apex Hospital, Sr. Mira AC, superior and manager of the School of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Sr. Rashmita AC Director of the School of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Sr. Alisha AC Director of Sister Jamshedpur, parents of graduating students and teachers were present at the ceremony.

The course prepares students for Office Assistant jobs and includes the following subjects: Computer Basics, Accounting, TALLY, Communication Skills, Functional English, Life Skills, and Office Administration. The students undertook a 2-month internship at the following organizations: Central Public School, Adityapur; Triveni Engicons SA Ltd., Bistupur; Apex Hospital, Sakchi; Mansarovar Logistics, CH Area; Brubeck Bakery, Bistupur; Tanishq Jewelry Showroom; Bebbco motors; Allied Instruments and Thermocouples, ASL Motor’s, Pranic Healing Center and Kala Udyaan.

32 students from this batch have already obtained employment in the following organizations: Central Public School, Loyola Project School, Beldih Triangle, Tanishq Jewelery Showroom Bistupur, Triveni Engicons Pvt. Ltd., Bistupur; Apex Hospital, Sakchi, Allied Instruments and Thermocouples, ASL Motors, Meditrina Hospital, Adityapur, Brubeck Bakery, Bistupur, Jyoti Punj Hospital, Patna, Bebbco Motors Pvt. LTD, Bistupur, Epson Service Centre, Sakchi, Call Center, Chamber of Commerce of Singhbhum, Bistupur.

“I am a Commerce Graduate, but no one was willing to give me a job before doing this course because I was a new student. As the financial situation in my house is not good, one of the students of Puja Karmakar informed about the course. She told me that the fee is much lower since the sisters of the Sacred Heart convent school had started this course to help girls in need. During this course, I learned Computers, TALLY, Communication Skills and English. The sisters and teachers were very supportive. Today, I have a management and support job in the Account Department of Triveni Engicons, Pvt Ltd. I am confident that I will be able to handle my job and contribute financially to my family”, says Beenu Gope, a student of 1 Year Diploma Course in Office Administration at Carmel Community College, Jamshedpur.

Carmel Community College has been started by the Apostolic Sisters of Carmel with the aim of providing vocational training to underprivileged women. The 1-year Diploma in Office Management started in July 2015. The course also offers a credit course in Event Management.
