It’s all about cookies and other treats this time of year at the library.

With the holidays just around the corner, baking treats to share with family and friends is a popular hobby for many people.

From cakes and breads to pies, cinnamon rolls, and cookies, the holidays are filled with delights. Your Abilene Public Library is joining in on all the baking fun this holiday season by baking cookies.

At the December 13 APL Cookbook Club meeting, we will be having a cookie exchange. Part of the event will share appetizers that we have prepared using recipes from library cookbooks or the library’s food databases, AtoZ Foods America and AtoZ World Food. This will be the dinner part of the night.

The second part will be sharing our homemade cookies with each other.

Cookie recipes can come from databases: cookbooks at the library, a favorite cookbook at home, the Internet, or a treasured family cookie recipe. Attendees should bring two dozen cookies to share with others. If you’re looking for a new cookie recipe, the library has a wide variety of cookbooks that might inspire you and your baking aspirations.
