“Holiday festival! Shop, Dine & Win” is back in the South Lake Avenue district of Pasadena on Saturday, December 3, an all-day event offering activities between 12 and 5 pm to encourage community members and patrons. invited to support local Pasadena businesses.
HolidayFest is the South Lake Avenue district’s way of kicking off holiday shopping and dining each year, offering a diverse and festive mix of free live musical performances. Some of the bands lined up include Quitapenas, a tropical Afro-Latino combo; Dreaming of You, a Selena tribute band; and Las Cafeteras, a Chicano band from East Los Angeles that plays everything from Afro-Mexican to Americana, from soul to “son jarocho” and roots to rock and hip hop.
DJ William Reed, recognized as one of LA’s best DJs by LA Weekly, will spin familiar beats at the venue throughout the evening.
There will be live music at the Music Stage at Shops on Lake at 345 S. Lake Ave.
Holiday Festival! also features a Santa Village, raffle and holiday airbrush art at Macy’s at 401 S. Lake Ave. A Holiday Artisan Market at The Commons at 140 S. Lake Ave. will feature cooking and decorating demonstrations by of artisans. Also featured is a winter workshop with trim making and a draftsman at Pasarroyo at 251 S. Lake Ave., and a Snow Globe station at Burlington Arcade, 396 S. Lake Ave.
New businesses that recently opened on South Lake Avenue are also welcoming guests to HolidayFest, including Marina Pasadena Restaurant, Gaucho Grill Argentinian Steakhouse, Cycle Gear, Pasadena Hotel and Pool, Susie Cakes, Twinkle Tea, Gozen Shun Japanese, Restaurant, Sugared + Bronzed, Casper The Sleep Shop, Terra Outdoor Living, Peony Couture, Pasadena Weight Loss Center, One Life Yoga, Ms. Kawaii Eyelash Salon, NailBox Pasadena, and Dentists of Pasadena on Lake, among others.
To play Shop, Dine & Win, purchase an item or dine in at any South Lake Avenue business on Saturday between 12 and 5 pm Receipts must be dated December 3rd. Purchases must be made in person, not online. Once receipts have been submitted and verified, winning entrants will be announced via an in-person raffle at Macy’s Courtyard, 345 S. Lake Ave. Raffle times are 2, 3:30 and 5 p.m. Tickets do not accumulate. If you don’t win, play again.
