
FULTON – How would you like to ride a horse-drawn sleigh on a snowy night? Or enjoy a cup of hot cocoa while watching the fireworks along the Oswego River? Both are new features of the Fulton Christmas tree lighting on Saturday, December 3, as announced by Caroline Shue, chair of the Fulton Special Events Committee (SEC).
“Thanks to the SEC, this year’s tree lighting will be the best yet,” said Fulton Mayor Deana Michaels. “Sponsor SEC, with support from Fulton Parks and Recreation, is really turning this into a fabulous holiday event.”

This free event, held from 4 to 6 pm at Veterans Park across from the Fulton Municipal Building, is packed with activities for kids and the whole family, according to Shue.
“There will be Santa Claus, as well as the Grinch to delight the children, and there will also be Santa’s mailbox for letters to the North Pole. Free snacks include pizza donated by Red Baron, sugar cookies donated by Kathy’s Cakes, hot chocolate donated by Fulton Athletic Boosters Club, candy canes donated by WalMart, eggnog donated by Hudsons’ Dairy, and popcorn donated by Huhtamaki.” Shue said. .
Additionally, All Saints Episcopal Church will be hosting a $12 pork dinner with all the fixings from noon to evening, with all proceeds funding free Tuesday dinners for the public.
The Salvation Army will be ringing the donation bell and the Fulton Police Department will be collecting Toys for Tots.
The Community Hall at the Fulton Municipal Building will have a variety of vendors from 4-6 pm These include the Fulton Public Library, the Fulton Family YMCA, the G. Ray Bodley High School Art Club with painting free facial and ornate decoration, and the G. Ray Bodley Class of 2026.

Activities are scheduled as follows: 4:30-4:45 pm, Off Broadway dance studio performance on S. First St.; 5-5:15 p.m., Belle Royale Dance performance on stage; 5:30 to 5:35 pm Salvation Army Tambourine Brigade on stage; 5:45-6 pm, Christmas carols around the tree by Fulton City School District students; tree lighting at 6 pm; 6:05 am Fireworks over the river behind Veterans Park.
