Federal and local leaders to visit two small businesses to highlight small businesses on Saturday – The Gilmer Mirror

EULESS – on november 21st and 22North Dakota SBA Dallas/Fort Worth District Director Herbert Austin and SBA Southcentral Interim Director of Regional Communications Ahmad Goree will visit two North Texas small businesses to promote Small Business Saturday, which is a national celebration in which the SBA encourages consumers to shop with small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year, Austin and Goree will visit Beverly’s Florist in Arlington and Les Delices De France Bakery in Dallas. Both businesses received SBA loans to grow and create jobs. They will be joined during the visits by Arlington Mayor Jim Ross and Dallas City Councilmember Jaynie Schultz.

Celebrated the day after “Black Friday,” November 26 marks the 13ththe Annual Small Business Saturday, created to help small businesses capture a larger share of critical holiday season consumer spending, helping small business owners bring more customers to their doors.

The US Small Business Administration also encourages shoppers to go above and beyond by patronizing local dining and entertainment businesses. According to American Express®, shoppers came together last year to support their local communities; and Small Business Saturday hit a record with an estimated $23.3 billion[1] in reported spending at small retailers and restaurants.
