TORONTO, November 21, 2022 /CNW/ – CTV’s new cake competition series CRUZ FIELD CAKE is scheduled to debut with four holiday-themed episodes, opening with a two-night special event Thursday, December 15 Y Friday, December 16 a 9 p.m. Eastern time/PT on CTV, CTV.ca and the CTV app. Brought to you by the multi-Canadian Screen Award-winning cookbook author maria berg and introducing the famous pastry chef andres hanthe CTV Original series features the best pastry chefs in the country as they bake to claim the $50,000 award and title CRUZ FIELD CAKE Champion.
Over the course of four holiday-themed episodes, hosts Berg and Han judge the homemade cakes of 24 bakers from around the world. Canada. During three regional qualifying rounds, eight bakers in each of the host cities: vancouver, torontoY halifax – present their creations to the judges. Four pastry chefs from each qualifier then advance to compete in the CRUZ FIELD CAKE cook in a festive cake challenge. The top 2 bakers representing each region go on to compete in the final.
In Monday, December 19 a 9 p.m. Eastern time/PT On CTV, CTV.ca and the CTV app, the third and final qualifying round concludes leaving six pastry chefs to face off in two holiday challenges. The winner takes home the first prize of $50,000 and the title of CRUZ FIELD CAKE Champion during the final of Tuesday, December 20 a 9 p.m. Eastern time/PT on CTV, CTV.ca and the CTV app.
After the four-episode Christmas season, CRUZ FIELD CAKE returns to CTV in spring 2023 with six all-new episodes featuring a new crop of 40 Canadian bakers competing for the top prize.

Cook andres han is the owner and executive chef of the award-winning Kouign Café, located in the heart of from vancouver historic chinatown. Chef Han discovered a love of cooking at an early age and received training in classic French and Italian culinary arts and pastry at Vancouver’s Northwest Culinary Academy. He began his career as an executive pastry chef at various notable vancouver restaurants and bakeries, fusing her Korean-Vietnamese-Canadian upbringing with her passion for food to later create her whimsical, otherworldly creations at Kouign Café. While Chef Han is known for his masterful execution of combining sweet and savory ingredients and his special selection of Kouign Amann, his best-known menu item is the White Rabbit Biscuit. This cookie went viral when he participated in a unique pop-up in Chinatown, drawing daily lineups of hungry foodies craving culinary nostalgia.
