Couple celebrates wedding at Heather Glen Country House

This week our Wedding Album will look at the wedding of Suzanna Pollock and Kevin McCamish.

Suzanne is responsible for finance at Paragonvet Ltd in Dalston and Kevin is a quarry operator for Breedon in Shap.

The couple lives in Carlisle and met when Kevin was working on Suzanne’s family farm in 2005 and met through mutual friends. Suzanne messaged Kevin in April 2018 and they went to lunch at Royal Oak, Curthwaite on April 29, 2018.

Kevin proposed to Suzanna on 24 January 2022 on Suzanne’s 34th birthday in the Queen Elizabeth Walled Garden at Dumfries House, Cumnock.

The couple were married this year at Wreay Church at 12:00pm, followed by a reception at Heather Glen Country House, Ainstable.

The wedding theme was natural and burlap.

The bride’s wedding dress was from Wed2Be in Carlisle and was a lace-trimmed mermaid gown and she wore a cathedral-length veil from Songbird, Keswick.

Her hair was done by Nichola All Styles Hair and Beauty and her makeup was done by The Loft Beauty Rooms at Orton Grange.

The bridesmaids were her sister, Dawn Pollock, Julie Potts, the groom’s sister, Katie Martin, the bride’s friend who was 32 on the day of the wedding. The outfits were provided by Catherine Paige Bridal in Dalston. Her florist was Erin Banks, the daughter of the bride’s cousin.

Kevin’s groomsmen were his best man James McCamish, who is his father, and John Todd, the groom’s friend.

The ushers were Graeme Pollock, the bride’s cousin, and Peter Potts, the groom’s brother-in-law. The clothing vendors were Slater Menswear in Newcastle and they wore navy herringbone tailcoats.

Flowers included a willow arch at the church door, flower columns inside the church, and a large pedestal at the fountain and antique bicycle front arrangement. There were flower arrangements in the center of the table in hoops at the reception. The teardrop bridal bouquet, bridesmaids’ hand ties and Ann Morley buttonholes.

The bride arrived at the church in Cumbria Classic Cars’ Ivory Beauford and the groom traveled to the church in his father’s Ford Capri. The boyfriend’s Massey Ferguson 35x tractor was parked in Heather Glen.

Day 90 guests were treated to canapés upon arrival at Heather Glen at 1:30 pm along with bottles of Peroni and Bellini’s. The emcee was given by Graham Holliday with speeches at 3pm followed by a wedding breakfast. Evening guests joined at 7pm and enjoyed a hot buffet.

Favors included cupcakes and baked trays made by the bride, groom, mother of the bride and bridesmaid, Katie, themed after table names presented in Kraft boxes.

Heather Glen provided the catering for the couple’s big day and they also had a triple tier cake made by Bakery 27 and a fruitcake made by the mother of the bride.

The couple’s first dance was Shania Twain- This Moment On. Evening entertainment was provided by Cory Spedding and Scott Barrie Magician. Entertainment for the evening reception was provided by 3 River City Band.

They went to celebrate their honeymoon in Rhodes. Jill Harrington was the photographer for the day and Allen Williams of Lake District Productions was the videographer.
