Multi-Commodity Exchange Update: The stock market fell for the third day in a row today, ending nearly 1 percent lower amid a weak trend in global equities. The 30-stock BSE Sensex fell 518.64 points to settle at 61,144.84. The broader NSE Nifty fell 147.70 points to close at 18,159.95. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, coriander, copper, aluminum and zinc fell amid weak trend, while guarseed futures and cottonseed oilcake futures gained on higher demand. .
Coriander prices fell by Rs 74 to Rs 10,410 per cwt in futures trading as speculators reduced their exposure amid weak demand in the spot market. On the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange, coriander contracts for December delivery fell by Rs 74, or 0.71 percent, to Rs 10,410 per quintal in 9,580 lots.
Copper futures fell 3 rupees to 670.15 rupees per kilogram on Monday, as participants reduced their positions amid subdued demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for November delivery decreased by Rs 3, or 0.45 percent, to Rs 670.15 per kg on trade turnover of 4,409 lots.
On Monday, aluminum prices fell Rs 1.35 to Rs 207.80 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminum for November delivery fell Rs 1.35, or 0.65 percent, to Rs 207.80 per kg in 3,287 lots.
Zinc prices on Monday fell 1.28 percent to Rs 266.65 per kilogram in futures trading as speculators reduced their exposure taking negative signals from the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for November delivery were trading down Rs 3.45, or 1.28 percent, at Rs 266.65 per kg in 1,865 lots.

Guar seed prices rose by Rs 186 to Rs 6,029 per 10 cwt in futures trading on Monday after speculators expanded their positions following a firm trend in the spot market. On the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed contracts for December delivery rose by Rs 186, or 3.09 percent, to Rs 6,029 per 10 cwt with open interest of 52,475 lots.
Cottonseed oilcake prices rose by Rs 26 to Rs 2,679 per cwt in futures trading on Monday as speculators built up new positions amid higher demand. On the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange, cottonseed oilcake for December delivery rose 26 rupees, or 0.97 percent, to 2,679 rupees per cwt with open interest of 38,460 lots.
