A group under the aegis of the Coalition of Southeastern Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has called on the Anambra State Legislative Assembly and other relevant authorities to ensure that Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo is removed from office by his recent attacks on Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi.
The group that made the call after a meeting Monday in Awka, the state capital, said the call for the removal of the governor is the group’s way of registering its discontent over the “controversial and demeaning letter that Soludo wrote against former Governor Peter Obi, whose investments as former state governor, Soludo said, are worth next to nothing.”
In a statement issued by COSEYL’s general president, Goodluck Ibem, the group called on the “president and all members of the Anambra State Legislative Assembly to immediately start the impeachment process for Soludo to save the people from Anambra of national shame by a supposed professor”.

“We want everyone to know that Soludo’s offhand statement against Obi is his opinion, not his family’s opinion. His own biological son had said that Obi is the best presidential candidate against the statement of his father.
“Soludo is alone in his attack against Obi; and anyone who could have paid him for such hatchet work should go and ask for a refund, because his statement is worthless. Now is the time to charge Soludo,” the group said.
COSEYL also emphasized that it has declared Friday, November 25, 2022, as a day when all Anambrians will throw their rubbish at the door of Anambra State Government House to “bring the Governor back to his senses” and to deter others. Igbo political office holders “who might want to insult the sensibilities of the Igbo nation.”
“The dumping of garbage in the house of anyone who commits sacrilege against his people is a traditional way of disciplining and teaching the person some lessons.
“The Igbo nation is great and blessed. No one should play with him. That Soludo is the governor of Anambra today is not his doing, but God’s using the people of Anambra to vote him into office.
“On Friday, November 25, 2023, we are declaring a garbage dumping day at the Anambra government house to remind Soludo of this long tradition of discipline,” Ibem said.
