If you have spent any time at all working at marketing on the web, you will have a long list of affiliate programs and membership sites that you have joined. You may also have a long list if websites that you run. Believe me, if you don‘t yet, you soon will. Other lists that you may have are search engines or article repositories that you work with. How many times have you had to search through your old emails trying to find your access code for one of those programs or websites? If you are like me, the answer is way too many times! Well, here is an easy solution. And it is one that probably came with your computer. Remember that free office suite that was advertised on the box? It probably had a spreadsheet as part of it. Now is the time to take it out and do a test drive.
Build a solid foundation knowledge, you will find that all the programs upgrades is quite easy for you to understand. This is because the core foundation will not change. When it comes to learning new things, you want to take it one bite at a time. Don‘t punish yourself if you can‘t get it the first time. Don‘t give up easily. If you don‘t know how to even write an email, start by just register an account. If you don‘t have a computer, start by using the computers in the public library. Be flexible with the approach but be firm with the intention when it comes to learning the new technology.
What you want to do is make a separate spreadsheet for each of those categories that I mentioned earlier. Start out by making one for the affiliate programs that you have joined. Label the top left cell ‘Affiliate Name‘. Now you have a choice. In my spreadsheet program, I can right click on that cell and add a hyperlink. If you can do that, I recommend that you make a hyperlink to the place you can look at your stats. If you can‘t do that with your program name the next column ‘stats‘.
The common feature among the spreadsheets templates is that they save time and effort and also they make the work and other calculations easier. Planning out things and fast access to data and other information are made very easy when using spreadsheet templates. But most of these templates are unique according to the purpose. That is the second real value of bookkeeping spreadsheets, the ability to provide the business with financial information and through that data financial control over the business activities.
