The Bethel Park Historical Society presents its annual Breakfast with Santa at 9 am on December 3 at the Schoolhouse Center for the Arts and History, 2600 South Park Road.

The event is limited to 100 people. Tickets are $15 per person. Email [email protected] to coordinate the purchase.

Bethel Park Township will kick off the holiday season with the annual tree lighting ceremony on November 30.

Festivities begin at 6:45 pm at the Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Ave. There will be entertainment and light refreshments, and a visit from Santa Claus is expected.

Holiday workshop for children.

Bethel Park Recreation is offering a fun holiday workshop for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade at the Bethel Park Community Center. Holiday crafts, games, movies and snacks are featured. You must register by November 30 by visiting https://bethelpark.net/community/community-events/holidays-2022/.

The fee is $15 for residents and $18 for non-residents.

Dean Streator concert

The Dean Streator Holiday Concert is scheduled for December 11 at 2:30 pm at the Bethel Park Community Center.

Community Band South, directed by Jim Bennett and Max Gonano; Bethel Park High School’s Top 21 Vocal Ensemble, led by Todd Kuczawa; Southminster Presbyterian Church Bell Ringers, led by Richard Pinkerton; and Christmas tree cookies from Bethel Bakery.

The program is sponsored by the Bethel Park Community Foundation and is free, although contributions in support of the foundation’s grant programs are appreciated.

Live Well Park Bethel

The Live Well Bethel Park speaker series continues on December 14 with a program on mental health support for young athletes.

The NCAA published a study that found burnout, anxiety and depression are still about double pre-pandemic levels among college athletes. Bethel Park High School girls’ lacrosse head coach Becky Luzier said young athletes also face pressure on and off the field. She will lead a discussion about the signs and symptoms of mental health issues and how to seek treatment, as well as how to support her young athlete.

Christmas lunch for seniors

Bethel Park Recreation’s annual Senior Christmas Luncheon is scheduled for December 16 at 1 pm in the Bethel Park High School cafeteria. Please do not arrive before 12:15.

A shuttle will be available from the parking area to the entrance of the high school.

The cost is $9.50 per person. Registration is until December 8 or until all spaces are filled. Visits without an appointment are not allowed. Lunch is for Bethel Park residents only.

‘Christmas Spirit’ Program

South Hills Church of the Nazarene, 5601 Library Road, Bethel Park will present a “The Spirit of Christmas” program at the 10 am service on December 18. Everyone is welcome.

The church also invites members of the community to a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. and a Christmas family service at 10 a.m.
