Baker & Baker is a Europe-wide manufacturer of bakery products, with 12 manufacturing sites in seven countries, including four in the UK, where the company is based. Manufactures a range of licensed, customer-specific private label bakery products for the retail, foodservice and wholesale channels.

Last year, the company became an independent manufacturer of bakery products after the sale of its ingredients division (CSM Ingredients). It officially launched as Baker & Baker in April 2021.

Baker & Baker has implemented a number of sustainability initiatives over the past year to reduce carbon emissions and was a founding signatory to WRAP’s water reduction roadmap.

Growth and expansion have been a key focus over the last year with the company investing significantly in increasing its presence in new markets in Europe and beyond. This includes the opening of a new office in Poland and entry into new territories such as Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

Ginger Bakers is located in a purpose-built bakery, near Kendal, where owner Lisa Smith and her team create a variety of cakes and pastries using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

The business is constantly evolving and has developed a range of gluten-free and vegan products. Alongside this, the company has also been able to increase its core product ranges, creating a range of over 30 products.

Ginger Bakers has also worked hard to grow its overall customer relationships. Established a stronger online presence, improved social media results to increase newsletter signups, provided cake recipes to the media for people to bake at home, and forged a variety of partnerships with other local businesses to create specific cross-sell retail products to build a broader loyalty base.
