We’re in that “happy” time of year where we just can’t get enough of all the fun the holiday season brings us.

With Christmas just around the corner, waking up our festive spirit with each passing day, eating some delicious cakes is all we are longing for.

Here are five recipes for special Christmas cakes.

Dip chopped cherries, raisins, candied rinds, tutti-frutti, almonds, cashews and pistachios in red wine.

mix them with maida and then put them aside.

Now beat some butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla together. Once this is done, pour it into the maida mixture.

Mix well and transfer to an oiled bowl or cake pan.

Place it inside your preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius and grease a baking pan.

Now add some chopped cashews and pecans and set it aside.

Meanwhile, prepare the cake mix by sifting the flour, cocoa powder, and salt into a bowl.

Separately, beat some butter, orange zest, sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a different bowl.

Combine the two bowls, mix in some rum, and bake.

Preheat the oven to 176 degrees Celsius.

Scoop some frosting into a bowl and add water, eggs, vegetable oil, and a bit of peppermint syrup. Mix well.

Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes.

Now make the frosting by creaming together butter, sugar, milk or water, and mint extract.

Once it is fluffy and consistent, spread it on the cake and decorate with mint candies.

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius.

Place some chopped dates in a bowl and immerse them in boiling water for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.

Separately, beat the butter, eggs, honey and sugar until creamy.

Combine the two and fold in the dates and walnut.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes and serve when cool.

Take a handful of blueberries, black currants, cherries, mangoes, and citrons in a bowl and stir.

Separately, beat some eggs, butter, and brown sugar until creamy.

Preheat your oven to 165 degrees Celsius and grease your baking sheet with cooking spray.

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking soda. Now combine all three bowls.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Enjoy!
